How to Knit a Pleated Accordion Stitch: 

Multiple of 10 + 1+  2 selvage sts.

Cast on 23 sts and work according to сhart.

Only RS rows are shown.

On WS rows, work all sts as they appear.

The pat rep = 10 sts.

Begin with 1 selv st, work patt rep throughout, end with st after patt rep and 1 selv st.

Row 1: slv (edge), * k5, p5, repeat from *, end with k1 and 1 selv st.

Rows 2, 4, 6, 8: work all sts as they appear.

Row 3: work as for Row 1.

Row 5: slv, * k1, p5, k4, repeat from *, end with k1 and 1 selv st.

Row 7: work as for Row 5.

Repeat Rows 1-8 throughout.
