Lace Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Lace Stitch:

Work with multiple of 8 stitches + 1 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 19 sts (1 + 8 + 8 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only RS rows.

On WS rows, work all sts and yo’s P.

The pat rep = 8 sts wide.

yo: yarn over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch

cdd (Central Double Decrease): slip first and second stitches together as if to knit, knit 1 stitch, pass two slipped stitches over the knit stitch

Row 1: edge st, k1, * k3, yo, skpo, k3, repeat from * to last 9 sts, k3, yo, skpo, k3, edge st.

Row 3: edge st, k1, * k1, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, skpo, k2, repeat from * to last 9 sts, k1, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, skpo, k2, edge st.

Row 5: edge st, k1, * k2tog, yo, cdd, yo, skpo, k1, repeat from * to last 9 sts, k2tog, yo, cdd, yo, skpo, k1, edge st.

Row 7: edge st, k2tog, * (yo, k1) 3 times, yo, cdd, repeat from * to last 6 sts, (yo, k1) 3 times, yo, skpo, edge st.

Repeat Rows 1-8 throughout.
