Yarn: 700 g (25% Wool, 75% Acrylic, yardage = 100g / 280m); 1 pair quick knit needles size 2 mm (US 0); 7 buttons of 2.5 cm in diameter.

Rib Patt: K2, P2 Rib.

Reverse stocking stitch (Rev St st): work RS rows P and WS rows K.

Garter st (gst): k every row.

Textured Pattern:

Work according to chart 1. Only RS rows are shown.

On WS rows work all sts as they appear.

Rep rows 1-34 throughout.

Cable 1:

Work according to chart 3. Only RS rows are shown.

On WS rows, work all sts P.

Repeat rows 1-6 throughout.

Cable 2:

Work according to chart 2. Only RS rows are shown.

On WS rows, work all sts P.

over Rev st st: 24 sts and 40 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Cast on 171 sts and cont as foll: selv st, 19 sts in Rev St st, 8 sts in Cable 1, 5 sts in Rev St st, 105 sts in Textured Pattern (35-st patt rep 3 times), 5 sts in Rev St st, 8 sts in Cable 2, 19 sts in Rev St st, selv st. 

Side Slants: Dec 1 stitch each side every 10th row 10 times = 151 sts.

Armhole Shaping: When piece meas 46 cm from beg, at each end bind off on every other row 4 sts once, 2 sts 3 times, and 1 st 10 times = 111 sts.

When piece meas 70 cm from beg, bind off all sts. 

Right Front: 

Cast on 85 sts and cont as foll: selv st, 19 sts in Rev St st, 8 sts in Cable 1, 5 sts in Rev St st, 35 sts in Textured Pattern, 5 sts in Rev St st, 8 sts in Cable 2, 3 sts in Rev St st, selv st. 

Work side slant and armhole at left end as for back = 55 sts.

When piece meas 70 cm from beg, bind off rem 41 sts each side for shoulders.

Left Front: Work in reverse.

Sleeves: 

Cast on 80 sts and work 16 cm in Rib Patt, inc 1 st in the middle of last WS row = 81 sts.

Cont as foll: selv st, 12 sts in Rev St st, 8 sts in Cable 1, 5 sts in Rev St st, 35 sts in Textured Pattern, 5 sts in Rev St st, 8 sts in Cable 2, 12 sts in Rev St st, selv st.

Sleeve Shaping: inc 1 stitch each side every 10th row 8 times and every 4th row 6 times = 109 sts.

Cap Shaping: When piece measures 49 cm from beg, at each end bind off on every 2nd row 4 sts once, 2 sts 3 times, 1 st 13 times, 2 sts 3 times, 4 sts once and rem 29 sts once. 

Wide band (2 pieces): 

Cast on 10 sts and work 220 rows in gst. At the same time, work buttonholes evenly spaced on right front band. To do that, bind off 5th-7th sts 6 times on 7th row and then every 28 rows, and cast them on again on foll row.

Finishing: 

Close shoulder seams.

Sew in sleeves, join side and sleeve seams. 

Pick up 110 sts evenly around edge of fronts from WS and work double band: 

Rows 1, 3, 7 and 9: Purl. 

Rows 2, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 10: Knit. 

Fold band onto RS and sew open sts. 

Sew wide band to middle of double band. 

Collar: Pick up 88 sts evenly around neck edge. On foll row, inc evenly 86 sts = 174 sts. 

Then work 10 cm in Rib Patt and bind off sts as they appear. 

Sew on buttons.
