How to knit Cable Stitch:
Multiple of 18 + 1 + 2 selvage sts.
Cast on 30 stitches (9 band sts + 18 + 1 + 2 selvage sts) and work according to chart.
The chart shows all RS rows and WS row.
On WS rows, work all sts as they appear.
Lower Border:
Row 1: selv st (edge), * slip 1 pwise, leave yarn at back of work, P1, repeat from *, selv st.
Row 2: selv st, alt K1, P1, selv st.
Repeat these 2 rows for pat.
Cable Stitch:
The pat rep = 18 sts wide.
In the chart, Cable Stitch is shown from the 11th to the 29th st (18 sts of the patt rep and st after patt rep).
Begin with 1 selv st (edge), 9 band sts, work patt rep throughout, end with st after patt rep and 1 selv st.
Repeat rows 1- 8 throughout.
