Boy's Pullover in Textured Patterns

Height: 138-140 cm (4.5-4.6 feet).

Materials: 

Yarn: 400 g (50% Viscose, 50% Acrylic, yardage = 440 m/100 g); 1 pair quick knit needles and one circular needle, both size 4.5 mm (US 7).

The pullover is worked with double strand.

Rib Patt: K2, P2 Rib.

Large Seed Stitch:

Work according to chart (from 1st to 12th sts). Only RS rows are shown.

On WS rows, work all sts as they appear.

Repeat rows 1-4 throughout.

Gauge: 24 sts and 31 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Back: 

Cast on 84 sts and work 5 cm in Rib Patt. Inc 3 sts evenly across last row = 87 sts. 

Cont as foll: selv st, 31 sts from 1st to 31st sts of chart, 23 sts in Large Seed Stitch, 31 sts from 55th to 85th sts of chart, selv st.  

Armhole Shaping: When piece measures 40 cm from beg, bind off 3 sts once at each end, then 2 sts once and 1 st twice on every 2nd row = 73 sts. 

Neckline Shaping: When piece measures 53 cm from beg, bind off centre 31 sts and complete both sides separately.

For rounding at inside edge on every 2nd row bind off 3 sts once and 2 sts once. 

When piece measures 55 cm from beg, bind off rem 16 sts each side for shoulders. 

Front: 

Work like back, but work from 32nd to 54th sts of chart on center 23 sts. 

Neckline Shaping: When piece measures 49 cm from beg, bind off center 21 sts and complete both sides separately.

For rounding at inside edge on every 2nd row bind off 3 sts once, 2 sts twice and 1 st 3 times. 

When piece measures 55 cm from beg, bind off rem 16 sts each side for shoulders.

Sleeve: 

Cast on 32 sts and work 4 cm in Rib Patt. Inc 8 sts evenly across last row = 40 sts.

Cont as foll:  selv st, 11 sts in Large Seed Sticth, 3 sts from 29th to 31st sts of chart, 10 sts from 19th to 28th sts of chart, 3 sts from 29th to 31st sts of chart, 11 sts in Large Seed Sticth, selv st.

Sleeve Shaping: Inc 1 stitch each side every 8th row 10 times = 60 sts. Work new sts into Large Seed Stitch. 

Shape sleeve cap: After 40 cm from beg bind off 3 sts at each end, then on every 2nd row 2 sts 6 times, 3 sts 3 times and rem 12 sts once.

Finishing: 

Close shoulder seams. 

Collar: Using circular needle, pick up 80 sts evenly around neck edge and work 16 cm in Rib Patt. Bind off sts loosely. 

Sew side seams, sleeve seams and set in sleeves.
