Sweater with Rose Stitch and Cable Panels

How to knit the sweater with rose stitch and cable panels:
Sizes: US 6 (US 8/10) US 12 • UK 10 (UK 12/14) UK 16.
Materials:
600 (600) 650 g yarn (70% natural wool, 30% camel wool; 125 m/50 g); straight and circular needles 4 mm (US size 6 / UK size 8).

Ribbing Pattern A: knit 1 stitch, purl 1 stitch alternately.
Ribbing Pattern B: number of stitches is a multiple of 4 + 2 edge stitches.
Right-side rows: 1 edge stitch, * knit 1 stitch, purl 2 stitches, knit 1 stitch, repeat from *, end with 1 edge stitch.
Wrong-side rows: work the stitches as they appear.

Cable Panel A (over 12 or 14 stitches):
Rows 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9: * purl 2 stitches, knit 10 stitches, repeat from *, end with purl 2 stitches.
Row 2 and all even rows: work the stitches as they appear.
Row 11: * purl 2 stitches, cross 10 stitches to the right (= slip 5 stitches onto a cable needle and hold at back, knit 5 stitches, then knit the stitches from the cable needle), repeat from *, end with purl 2 stitches.
Repeat Rows 1–12 throughout.

Cable Panel B (over 12 or 14 stitches):
Work as Cable Panel A, but in Row 11 cross 10 stitches to the left (= slip 5 stitches onto a cable needle and hold in front, knit the next 5 stitches, then knit the stitches from the cable needle).

Rose Stitch Pattern (multiple of 4 stitches):
Row 1: purl all stitches.
Row 2: * purl 3 stitches together, work 3 stitches (= knit 1, purl 1, knit 1) into 1 stitch, repeat from *.
Row 3: purl all stitches.
Row 4: * work 3 stitches (= knit 1, purl 1, knit 1) into 1 stitch, purl 3 stitches together, repeat from *.
Repeat the pattern repeat and Rows 1–4 throughout.

Diamond Stitch Pattern (over 20 stitches):
Work according to the chart, which shows only right-side rows.
On wrong-side rows, work the stitches as they appear.
Repeat Rows 1–16 throughout.

Gauge:
(average) 25.5 stitches × 26 rows = 10 × 10 cm;
Ribbing Pattern B (measured slightly stretched): 28.5 stitches × 24 rows = 10 × 10 cm.

Back:
Cast on 136 (144) 152 stitches using the long-tail cast-on and work 7 cm in Ribbing Pattern A between the edge stitches.
Continue as follows: edge stitch, 12 stitches Cable Panel A (working the stitches from Arrow A once), 12 (16) 20 stitches Rose Stitch Pattern, 20 stitches Diamond Pattern, 16 stitches Rose Stitch Pattern, 14 stitches Cable Panel A (working the marked stitches once), 16 stitches Rose Stitch Pattern, 20 stitches Diamond Pattern, 12 (16) 20 stitches Rose Stitch Pattern, 12 stitches Cable Panel B (working the stitches up to Arrow B once), edge stitch.
After 57 cm = 148 rows from the ribbing, bind off all stitches. The central 50 stitches form the neckline; the outer 43 (47) 51 stitches form the shoulders.

Front:
Work in the same way as the back.

Sleeves:
For each sleeve cast on 54 (58) 62 stitches using the long-tail cast-on and work in Ribbing Pattern B.
At the same time shape the sleeve by increasing 1 stitch at each side in every 4th row 21 times (in every 4th row 22 times) in every 4th row 19 times and in every 2nd row 4 times = 96 (102) 108 stitches, working the increases according to the pattern.
After 39 cm = 94 rows from the cast-on, bind off all stitches.

Finishing:
Sew the shoulder seams.
For the turtleneck, pick up 104 stitches along the neckline using circular needles and work in Ribbing Pattern A in the round.
After 15 cm bind off all stitches in pattern.
Set in the sleeves. Sew the side seams and sleeve seams.
