Hat with Earflaps and Snood

Hat (head circumference) = 55 cm.

Snood: width = 66 cm, height = 35 cm.

Materials:

Yarn: 300 g (70% Wool, 30% Acrylic, yardage = 180 m/100 g); 1 pair quick knit needles size 4 mm (US 6).

Stockinette stitch (St st): Work RS rows K and WS rows P.

Rib Pattern: K2, P2 Rib.

Cable Patt 1: 

Work according to chart 1. Only RS rows are shown. 

On WS rows, work all sts as they appear.

Work rows 1-18 once, then repeat rows 7-18 throughout.

Cable Patt 2: 

Work according to chart 2. Only RS rows are shown. 

On WS rows, work all sts as they appear.

Repeat Rows 5-20 throughout.

Hat:

Cast on 100 sts and work 5 cm in Rib Patt, inc 1 st evenly across last row.

Cont as foll: selv st, 13 sts in Cable Patt 1, 24 sts in St st, 25 sts in Cable Patt 1, 24 sts in St st, 13 sts in Cable Patt 1, selv st. 

Work even.

When piece measures 19 cm from cast on, bind off all sts. 

Sew back and upper seam.

Sew hat corners from WS as shown in scheme.

Snood:

Cast on 59 sts and work in Cable Patt 2. 

When piece measures 66 cm from beg, bind off all sts.

Sew seam.

Work string and pull it along seam.
