Hat and Scarf with Cables

Head circumference - 55 cm, height - 22 cm.

Scarf width - 50 cm, length - 120 cm.

Materials: 

Yarn: 300 g (50% Wool, 50% Acrylic, yardage = 280 m/100 g); 1 pair quick knit needles size 4 and 4.5 mm (US 6 and 7), crochet hook size 3 mm (US C).

Hat Pattern: 

Work acc to сhart 1. Only RS rows are shown.

On WS rows, work all sts as they appear.

Work rows 1-68 once.

Cable Pattern:

Work acc to сhart 2. Only RS rows are shown.

On WS rows, work all sts as they appear.

Work rows 1-16 once.

English Rib: 

RS rows: sl 1 st tog with yo kwise, P1. 

WS rows: P1 with yo tog, slip 1 st tog with yo kwise.

Pattern alternation: 24 rows in English Rib, 16 rows in Cable Pattern.

Hat:

Using needles size 4 mm, cast on 128 sts and work in pat acc to chart 1.

Incs and decs are shown. 

On Row 69 knit 2 sts together.

Draw rem sts tog with main yarn and fasten off.

Finishing: 

Sew back seam.

With crochet hook, work 2 rnds sc (single crochet) around lower edge of hat.

Scarf:

With 4.5 mm needles cast on 52 sts and work in pattern alternation.

When piece measures 120 cm from beg, bind off all sts.
